The Sound Of Perihelion

The Sound of Perihelion reimagines the return of the Houston Comets to the WNBA as a moment of astronomical inevitability. Rooted in the concept of perihelion: the point at which a celestial body is closest to the sun, the campaign frames the team’s comeback not quite as a revival, but as a force that was drawn back into power.Once a dominant dynasty in women’s basketball, the Comets are positioned here as a body that never disappeared, They more only drifted and were gaining momentum in absence. This rebrand captures the moment of their return as they accelerate toward peak dominance.


The campaign is structured as a two-part system:


  • The Rise — the period of acceleration,

    where the Comets rebuild momentum and move from absence to inevitability


  • The Reign — the moment of arrival,

    where power stabilizes and dominance is reestablished
